Tasks

• They are seeking a skilled and experienced, hands-on developer/engineer to join the hardware management team in Budapest. A successful candidate for this role could be from an enterprise infrastructure background, having experience with Linux or Unix environments, or a development-oriented candidate interested in configuring & managing the compute layer building blocks for a global enterprise.
  • Develop and integrate software components, including in-house developed systems as well as vendor platforms and open source solutions
  • Provide highly scalable automation tooling to easily manage their global server portfolio, including lights out management, firmware and peripherals
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems in the application, operating system and hardware layers
  • Work on business-enabling infrastructure projects utilising leading edge server, storage and networking architectures, security strengthening and operational scaling

Requirements

• Knowledge of Linux/Unix and basic network protocols
• Experience with x86 hardware and peripherals, including Out of Band or Lights out Management
• Effective troubleshooting skills across hardware, O/S, network, and storage
• Experience with Unix scripting, Perl or Python

Advantages

• Experience of managing, deploying to, and troubleshooting, large scale production environments including application of security principles and system hardening
• Ability to write robust, maintainable code in Python and/or Perl, collaborating with other engineers and developers following Agile practices
• Knowledge of enterprise-scale server management platforms such as Dell OpenManage, HP OneView or Lenovo XClarity or the Redfish API standards
• Familiarity with C, UNIX system calls, and other low-level technologies
• Experience working in a large, multi-national enterprise in any industry vertical, showing experience of communicating and collaborating in globally distributed teams
• Enthusiasm for modern development tools and Agile/DevOps practices including Git, Jenkins, automated testing, and continuous integration

About the team

The Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) Engineering group in the Core Infrastructure division is responsible for designing, implementing and managing the firm's huge scale global physical and virtual server infrastructure. The group is involved in evaluation, certification, integration, and maintenance of numerous products, including hardware, hypervisor, the Linux O/S, system configuration, critical infrastructure services (DNS, DHCP, NTP, etc.), high availability products and virtualization management technologies.
